Need advice

Postby kramella » 02 Dec 2009, 02:36

When I began my ancestor search, my father told me that his father (who died before I was born) was his adoptive father. All he knew about his biological father was his name and where he lived in 1930. I have learned that his father married and had a family, and passed away in 1971. The three children (my Dad's half siblings) are all still living and I have been able to get their contact information. I would like to contact them to get more information on the family. All I know is that they immigrated from Italy in the early 1900's. Obviously, my dad's half-siblings are probably not aware of my dad's existence. Do I contact them?

The decision to contact anyone including biological family is a highly personal matter and the decision is yours to make. Reaching out to family is never viewed negatively particularly where health history which is important to you and your immediate family is concerned. =Peter=

It's yours to make but if you do want to and are nervous to speek then write them and give them the oppertunity to respond.
