What if died on ship coming to USA?

Postby didozo » 24 Aug 2010, 18:35

Hello
What is a person died on the way over to USA? I didn't see anything on the ellisisland.org site nor on acestry.com.

Any idea where to start looking for that?

Immigrants who died enroute would be noted on the sjhips manifest and either kept on board until they reached Ellisisland or buried at sea. If they arrived and died then this website would be helpful to you http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.anc ... quarantine
