Has anyone had any luck contacting Catholic Churches in Palermo diocese such as Santa Petronilla or San Nicolo di Bari In Sicily by email or letter?
Are the records kept in each church or where?
I cannot speak to Palermo, but I had emailed Churches in Catania and Siracusa, with fantastic luck on response times. I emailed 3 churches in Catania (and emails returned to me within 24 hours) and I had emailed one church in Siracusa (email was returned 3 days later.)
They all had no records of what I was looking for but at least I got a response. Just make sure you write in Italian and reference the name of the person in whom to got the email for. (if it's a general email, this obviously does not apply.)
Give email a try, it can't hurt...if you don't get anything back in a timely fashion, send out the letter via regular mail.
