we will be there till next Tuesday our flight leaves Vegas at 11:25am
Mind you Trudy has already told Wayne that I may be flying back on my own.
The weather is working out perfectly for me to go with him (still raining) so Landscaping is on hold til things dry up here.
I will be taking loads of pictures and will get them out to you all as soon as I get back. Just may touch base with everyone from there so she can see the messages from all the great people who helped in the search.
must run all have a concert to go to this morning before I leave (my grandson's)
I wasn't able to get on last night as I was very very tired.
We arrived at my kid's house about 1:15am Wednesday morning and I got up with the kids at 6am. Then put in a full days works including getting Wayne back over so he could get to work in Brampton for 10pm.
Wayne and Gertrude spent alot of time talking and hugging both cried alot and she and I spent an afternoon together (she alomost gave me white hair she drives real fast).
Each morning we would have coffee outside on the porch taling and watching the birds and her puppy play. It was very surreal.
His brother Bill is the baby, and Mike and Wayne are the middle children. Bill and his girlfriend Joann live with Gertrude and John (John has Alzhiemers). They have an acre with tres and sand no lawn as it is hard to grow there.
Every day we did something, Friday we drove to Virginia City (up a mountain) bith of us took alot of pictures. It is a real old western town, with guys that show you how to pan for gold and saloons and everything there is even one called the Bucket of Blood. We walked around had lunch in the restuarant that Gertrude and John used to own then toured the shops like the tourists we were.
Saturday we drove to California by way of Lake Tahoe 7000+ feet above sea level. The little town we stopped at was the first place that gold was found in California and it wasn't far from Sutter's Mill where a major massacre had taken place. We arrrived in California and went to an "Italian" restaurant called "BUCA di Beppo" fantastic food and atmosphere. On the way back we stopped for fresh fruit and veggies at a roadside market. .
Sunday it was off 144 miles to Winnemauca to meet Mike and Mike Jr for lunch. Terrible food, guess I like my Canadian Chinese Food. Then we got in the car and came back.
It was a real pleasure to meet this lady and there isn't any doubt that she was as much of a victim as was her son. Her eyes just sparkled as she spoke to him and they both stated that they felt contentment.
We had only been there a day when it started "So, when are you coming back???"
