I went to Holy Cross Cemetery in Brooklyn to visit the grave of my grandparents and mother. All I did was go to the cemetery office and give them the names of my relatives and they looked up the info, which they keep on index cards, and let me copy the info. It listed the names, ages, date of burial...

not uncommon....examples...Gambino - Gammino, Giambanco - Giammanco, Tolumbello - Tolummello. These differences happen even within the same commune.

When I research these names I check for both spellings.

there is a NYC death certificate for a Teresa Rescigno of Queens - aged 69... died 6/10/1936. Certificate #4322..seems to match up pretty well.

I think the number you're talking about is the one in the index next to the name. That number would be the page number that is part of the original..HOWEVER, it is not the image number you're wanting to look at. From what I've seen...the books were scanned from the opening page of the book, which is...
