Re: Proving No Record of Naturalization

Hi,
The most important issue regarding naturalization is was your grandparent born "before" your GGF was naturalized?
If so then you're good! Any child born after naturalization, no longer has Jure sanguine.

Re: Proving No Record of Naturalization

Zodda,

The USCIS and Census records do not need translation. However you will need a letter from each county clerk that your Direct descendent lived in stating "no record of naturalization found" . Those letters I had translated to be safe.

Re: NYC Birth records

Thanks Tessa,
I input the info but no results were found. Do you think it would be in the municipal Archives?

NYC Birth records

Does anyone have some advice on locating a birth record from Queens NY in 1893?

I don't believe the NYC Archives goes back that far.

Thank you,

Drew

Citizenship Oath of Allegiance

Has anyone recently had a spouse take the oath for Italian Citizenship after a successful application? My wife has been approved and we would like to know what the procedure/experience was. Her letter should arrive any day.

Thanks,
Drew

Re: Citizenship through marriage oath.

Hi Robert, Yes you are correct. It will be a minimum of two years from the day you submit your wife's application at the consulate. It has actually been a bit longer for me. Two years passed last May. I do follow the progress on the Interior Ministery website and I expect some news very soon. Good l...

You will have to enter the info given to you by the Consulate. You can translate and follow the instructions. Hope this helps, Drew https://cittadinan...
