Re: Italian Consulates
Knowledge can only be obtain from asking questions and searching for the answers.
I am grateful for all the feed back on this topic. But I would like to hear from Italian citizens living in Italy, how they feel about dual Italian citizenship. Are they for it or against it.

Re: Italian Consulates
I believe you are right. Our ancestors left Italy for a better life here. When life got to rough there, they took the first ship out. I don't blame Italians living in Italy for looking unfavorable toward us. I would probably feel the same way, if I were on the other side. Taxing citizens aboard woul...

I understand the process for applying and know the advantages for Americans, but what does the Italian Gov have to gain from this. And how d...

Re: options
I sent an email to Lucia at Patronato INAS, Orland Park, IL and to the NY Consulate yesterday. I will wait till I get a response from them before I mail a letter to the mayor. I don't think writing to the mayor will help. Just another $18 for a registered letter and 6wks waiting for a possible reply...

Re: options
A women at the front desk of the ny consulate said a letter to the major wouldn't help unless its election year and my Italian is very limited, I would not be able to communicate my request.

Need documentation of Grandfather's death
My grandfather's given name is Vincenzo, he used it for all documents. He was also known as Jim to friends and family. His death certificate has Jim. I am searching for any document that would list Vincenzo as deceased. So far I cannot find any document in the US. He never became a US citizen. On hi...
