I was curious about whether if as a US citizen you changed your name from Smith to Johnson, for personal reasons, and somehow you were Italian. And you decided to get your Italian citizenship would this hurt you.

I found four Antonio Fede's on the Ellis island search but I couldn't find a Joseph or a Giuseppe Fede to be his son. I am beginning to get really confused =). thanks For your help. Ancestory.com seems to have info about Antonio Fede though

Well I talked to my grandfather and he said that his Grandfathers name was Antonio not Nunzio. He was unsure about most of the other things we discussed and he said that he would think about it and that I would be able to call him back about it.

I am getting really far ahead of myself, my grandpa didn't even reply and tell me if Nunzio was his grandpa yet. But if that works out and i find that Guiseppe wasn't naturalized under Nunzio but the consulate tells me that he was how do I prove that he wasn't?

well i found a Giacomo Fede who was three that seems to have come with brothers and sisters. Then i searched Di Fede and found a Giuseppe Di Fede who was three years old upon arrival from Comiso, Italy which is in Southern Sicily. Born in 1914 and arrived in 1917. Form what I am seeing from looking at the Ellis island site is that in my parameters of first name Guiseppe last name Fede, age between 1 and 5, dates between 1900 1924 i searched and i got one result which is Guiseppe Federico ( which is easily fede).
