Re: Saone, Italy
Hello Suanj, I have recently done my ancestry dna and I have a match with someone with Savarese relatives. They come from Vico Equense in Italy. I suspect that my relative that came to the United States was from the village Seiano in Vico Equense. Do you have access to church records from this regio...

Re: Saone, Italy
Hello again, I have been researching this topic again. The few stories my relatives remember is that Antonio came from northern Italy near the French border. Maybe the Piedmont region. On his naturalization record it lists that he was born in Saony, Italy. Here is the link to that part: http://www.j...

Re: Scipione in Formia
I should have looked this up before my prior post. Caserta is also a province. See below:
The Province of Caserta (Italian: Provincia di Caserta) is a province in the Campania region of Italy. Its capital is the city of Caserta. The former royal palace of Caserta is located near to the city.

Re: Scipione in Formia
Hello Ciccolilli, Thank you for your reply. Yes I know they are two separate towns but on the passenger list he wrote under the town field Formia and under the country field Caserta. That is great to know about the trove of info you got in Formia. Formia is the town I found on all of his docs. I thi...

Re: scpione
Hello All,
I am researching my last name Severse. I crossed paths with a Raffaelo Scipione. On a 1910 Census, it lists him as a cousin. Do any of you have him in your family line? I found he was born Jan 26, 1873 in Formia and I am looking to find his parents' names. Thank you.

What I have is: Raffaelo Scipione born January 26, 1873 in Formia, Italy. He also has it as Formia, Caserta on a passenger ...

I am leaning toward it being Savarese. You said that was from southern Italy. What area specifically? Thanks again.

Re: Saone, Italy
I found an alternate death record that might be him. It lists his parents as James Severis and Teresa Americona. It's the same date as I had and same cause.

Re: Saone, Italy
That one is interesting. I'm not sure though. I am thinking that the marriage record we are looking for is located in Laconia, NH. I found the 1880 Census record of Mary's parents in Laconia, NH. She is not listed with them and I have not found her yet in that census. A brother of hers was married a...

Re: Saone, Italy
I came across him being called Thomas again. It was under his son's marriage record. It lists him as Thomas Severse.
Also, I viewed the death record of Vincent. He death was by accidental shooting in 1901. Sad.

Re: Saone, Italy
I am not sure. In a Laconia directory the had 2 people listed Anthony Severe and Thomas Severe. The next directory had them removed to NY but listed them as one Anthony Thomas Severe. I found a death listing that's interesting. It's for Vengess Severse listed in 1901 Pepperell, MA Vol 517 page 708. ...

Re: Saone, Italy
This is all fantastic information!! You are wonderful. About his marriage. They possibly were married in Keesville, NY circa 1880. I have the Keeseville Town Clerk looking at the church records of that time. The story from my father is that Anthony arrived in the west probably through Canada. Possib...

That is wild. On my drive home I was going to ask you to look into Raffaelo Scipione. It's like you read my mind.
Is there a record of Ralph's birth in Formia? Maybe his mother's maiden name is my correct surname!!
