Re: Giuseppe Angiello matrimoni

Awesome!! I guess this means Andrea and Domenico were brothers and I don't have to feel guilty about adding people to my family tree.

Santa Maria Capua Vetere used to be known as Santa Maria Maggiore according to Wikipedia.

Re: Giuseppe Angiello matrimoni

Fantastic! I'll take a better look later when I'm on an official break from studying.

Re: Carmina Angiello nascita

Okay, great. Thank you for enlightening me! It's interesting that they preprinted the document number on the document. I guess we have the same thing today with purchase orders, checks, etc., but it seems to me it would have been more of a hardship then to change the plate for each printing of a form.

Re: Giuseppe Angiello matrimoni

I also see in your earlier posts that Antonio (died 1885) had a father by the name of Andrea and was of an age consistent with being Angela Maria's brother. I am going to use the working assumption that these folks are related (Antonio & Angela Maria being siblings; Domenico & Andrea being b...

Re: Carmina Angiello nascita

Thank you, Tessa. I saw that and found it surprising. Was it common for children to be baptized on the day of their birth?

Re: Giuseppe Angiello matrimoni

Sorry, Jim. You are just way ahead of me in your research, and moving faster as well! So, I realized that I misread something. We don't know the name of Andrea's mother or Domenico's mother, right? We only know they both had a father named Donato and were of ages consistent with their being siblings...

Re: Giuseppe Angiello matrimoni

Hi, Jim, How did you calculate an the 1811 birthdate for Domenico? Also, did you get the fact that Domenico's father was named Donato from Carmina's birth certificate? (Keep in mind I'm very green at this!) Unfortunately I can't verify Domenico's parentage other than that--all the information I have...

Was Carmina born and baptized on the same day, 1st May 1844?

Re: Giuseppe Angiello matrimoni

I'm looking at the tenth and eleventh lines... "... nella casa posta in Via S. Sebastiano al numero ____"

I think it says settantasetti - 77.

Re: Giuseppe Angiello matrimoni

Great, Jim, thank you.

It looks like this one has a house number listed on via S. Sebastiano. Can someone translate (or tell me if I'm mistaken)?

Re: Giuseppe Angiello matrimoni

Hi, Jim, As you can probably guess, Concetta was my great-great-aunt, so it would be great if you could post her document here on the forum! She immigrated to the USA, but I don't know much of what became of her, except that I do know my great-grandfather carried a weapon when he escorted her in NYC...

Re: Giuseppe Angiello matrimoni

I don't recognize the names Giovanni, Louisa or Teresa, but the document could be useful later in linking the Italian Angiellos with whom I'm communicating to my family, so I'd love to have it if convenient. I'm dropping you an email momentarily.
