Re: Solari from San Colombano Certenoli

Yes, that is the commune. I used the official address at Via A. dall'
Orsa, 76. I also wrote to the Assumption Blessed Mary Virgin church.
I did not include any money because when I did to Cicagna, I still did
not hear from them. Thanks for your reply. Carol

Solari from San Colombano Certenoli

My ggreatparents were Aloysia and Rose Solari who lived in Certenoli. So far I have received no answers to my requests for information on their marriage, their children, or Rose's maiden name. I know one of their sons, my great grandfather Francesco, was born in 1858, according to census records. I ...

Re: great grandparents in Genoa

Thank you Laura.
As I said, I tried writing to the church in Cicagna, but have not received
a reply after 3 months. I guess I will try again.

Re: great-grandparents in Marsicovetere

I don't know how to thank you enough. What a Christmas gift! My greatgrandfather, Francesco Sammartino, became a violinist with the Philadelphia Orchestra (in Phila.,PA). Amazing, since he was a sailor early on. All the first names have carried through our family. Since my grandmother told me that t...

great-grandparents in Marsicovetere

My great-grandparents, Francesco Sammartino and Luisa Evangelista,
were married in Marsicovetere, Potenza, in 1879. Although I intend to write
to the municipality, will they be able to tell me if they were born in the town?
Thanks for any help.

Re: Marsicovetere in Potenza

Thank you so much. I may write to her when I write to the town for any
documents they may have. Thank goodness for those form letters. I cannot speak Italian. Carol

Re: Marsicovetere in Potenza

I am hoping to find information about the town in Potenza, and would love
to know if there are any ancestors still living there. I am interested in any
and all information on both the town and the family names.

Thanks for inquiring. Carol
