Re: How do flash drive microfilm machines work?
At the local FHC, the microfilm readers project the image down onto a slanted surface, sort of like an architect's drawing table. If you want to photograph a section of the projected image, e.g. for a single birth act, you have to position it so it's displayed as close to the front of the machine as...

Re: Latin and Italian
The language of the Church was Greek before it was Latin, and Aramaic before it was Greek. But the true language of the Church is the tongue of fire.

Re: "nuda proprietà" in atto di ultimo volontÃÂ
Just as a side note, is the phrase vita sua natural durante a legalistic archaism? Or does modern colloquial Italian also permit durante to appear at the end of the adverbial phrase in that manner?

Re: "nuda proprietà" in atto di ultimo volontÃÂ
Cherry, thank you, you did provide additional information about the limits placed on the person who has the use of the property, and the limits placed on those who might wish to purchase the title while that person is still living.

"nuda proprietà" in atto di ultimo volontÃÂ
In the context of a last will and testament, what does the phrase nuda proprietà denote? The sentence reads: Lascio l'usufrutto di tutti i miei beni vita sua natural durante a mia moglie...mentre lascio la nuda proprietà ai miei nipoti, figli della mia sorella morta... I understand the gist -- the...

Re: pretura copies transferr from Caltanissetta to Enna?
Here's the short answer: I am trying to determine the present-day location of the pretura copies of the civil archives for Pietraperzia. Here's the long answer: When I look up Pietraperzia on the internet, the results show that it is nowadays in the province of Enna: http://www.comuni-italiani.it/08...

Re: pretura copies transferr from Caltanissetta to Enna?
Thank you, Marcello. Do you happen to know if Enna now has the pretura archives of the towns that do not appear on that list (i.e. towns formerly part of the province of Caltanissetta)?

pretura copies transferr from Caltanissetta to Enna?
Were the pretura copies of the archives from towns in the province of Caltanissetta later handed over to Enna? Or did Caltanissetta retain them?

Yes, but I thought the geographic location might provide a helpful clue.liviomoreno wrote:This is a list of first names, while jamiecapaldi was questioning about a surname.
