I would like to compliment the fantastic job that everyone does on these forums. Only in my wildest dreams could I have imagined such a helpful site for my Italian roots. I try to read as many posts as possible to educate myself about genealogical resources.
I like to do as much research as possible before asking for help, but I can say you have already taken down some brick walls that I never thought I could get over. Your resources and dedication continue to amaze me.
I order microfilms and pour over them at the LDS center whenever possible using my very limited ability to read Italian (looking for familiar names). Someone is always available to help me to discern what I have found (translations) even when it turns not to be what I am looking for. Your patience with me is very much appreciated.
I'll bet you knew there was going to be a question in this whole blog. Well, here it is. Am I the only person researching in the town of Santa Maria Capua Vetere? Of all the postings I have read, I have not seen one reference to this town.
Obviously, if I found someone with a common interest in this town, we might be able to share some resources. Just asking if I might have missed an opportunity. Again, thank you for all of your help. Happy Birthday, Peter.
Jim
