Dual Citizenship...How Do I Look?

Over 25 million Italians have emigrated between 1861 and 1960 with a migration boom between 1871 and 1915 when over 13,5 million emigrants left the country for European and overseas destinations.

I am just guessing here, trying to be proactive. My mom was the last of five born.

Looks like my grandpa got married in the mid 1930's to someone from Italy already here in US; had a kid or two and then applied for naturalization 1/12/35. It looks like they had a plan in place to become naturalized. I need to go 4/19/40 for naturalization or I'm toast. Wish me luck, I'm gonna need it.

Sorry to be a pest. The suspense is killing me. I cannot sleep. I've been to the public library with no luck. They told me to go to the Family History Center at the Mormon church. I've been to 2 of those and I have the film ordered. It will take 2 to 3 weeks to arrive.

I emailed and called Carnegie library. They were helpful, they said
the naturalization records after 1906 are held by the NARA Mid-Atlantic Archives
branch in Philadelphia. Call them at 215-606-0100 and ask about the cost and procedures for getting a copy of the file. Nothing after 1930 is on the Footnote database as of yet.
They are the naturalization records for the Western District Court of Pennsylvania. Tell
them about the numbers on the manifest and they should be able to assist you for a fee.

They said they will email me the application to process this. That will take a week and then 2 weeks to get the info.

You guys know of anybody or a service that can go into this county offices in Pittsburgh or Philadelphia?

Or is there anybody in Washington, DC that can go in to the branch and look up the microfilm? I have the microfilm no. I just need somebody to check the date my grandpa was naturalized, if he ever was.

All I need is someone to look at that record and tell me the date he was naturalized. Why is this so hard to do? I'm desperate. Is there anyone in Nigeria that will take my credit card and my bank routing nos. and look up the information I need (joke only).

Is there any options left that I can do to find the date? It's an all up or down.

Whitey, please email me.

Alfonso was born 21 Jan 1895 in Pianella, Abruzzo, Italy.

Your Grandmother was Mary Gaitenelli, born 14 Aug 1902.

I'm guessing your mother was/is Mary Lou?

Anyway, email me - I have photos of everyone, pictures of the house in Abruzzo where they lived, all kinds of stories, etc.

Your 3rd cousin in England, Max.
