There are records online from 6 parishes in Palermo Province. You might get lucky with one of these parishes. The records go from the 1530 to 1919. In my own database, I have an Angela Milazzo who married in Ventimiglia in Palermo Province a Michelangelo Barone. I have an Anna Milazzo, an Anna who married a Francesco Aldoino in Salaparuta in Trapani Province.

I didn't found Lorenzo in this last database, so possibly they married in another town... considering his wife was born in trapani maybe they married in the Bride's town...

I went to the page you suggest. Nothing asked my username or password and I did not find any section for searching palermo districts. Do you have a direct link?

I think I found what you are taking about. If my local family search center doesn't have the film I have to buy it an hope it may have the info.

Maybe you already found them for yourself, but I notice on my Births in the City of Palermo 1896 to 1905 data-base, there are named 4 children with parent names Lorenzo Milazzo and Giuseppa Sorrentino

First, thank you so much for the effort you put into your web site. Yes, I had already found the four children there. I'm looking for Guiseppe who was born around 1890, a date your site doesn't cover. There is one older child Nunzio born in 1889.
I also used your site to see if my great grandparents were married around 1884 in Palermo but found nothing which leads me to believe they may have been married in Trapani or elsewhere.
Suggestions?

I would agree concerning the marriage. The Palermo City marriage Index for 1884 has to be pretty accurate.
For the other two births, and maybe more, there is the Births Index for 1886 to 1895.
It would be on one specific film of the Mormons. Costing you $5.50 to rent for a month. You could check for the births in half an hour easily.
Very clear film, typed entries, easy to read.
I might eventually transcribe it, but not soon, and it will take months.

this is quite a busy message board I see, with multiple conversations.
I see now that master pink 67 (who is either playing baseball or using a jackhammer) had already listed those four children I told you about.
But to answer your question.
Short answer: The information will be exactly identical in form and quantity.
Long answer: part one, those strange looking things like
uf2, 450, 2343
are district, book, page references which the archives in Palermo can use to find the original documents. Unfortunately they are the least reliable parts of my somewhat roughcaste database, since there is no way to auto check them.
If it were me, and I wanted to take the "write to Palermo" route, I would rent the film again and get the exact district, book, page reference information (cost $5.50, time delay about a month) then write to Palermo SENDING SOME MONEY with my letter.
Long answer: part two, maybe you want to know the birth date of the parents. Well, make a broad guess, then rent the birth films that cover your guess period and take a look.
You are going to start renting all sorts of index films. When I was doing my own familly this way, i think i rented them all at one time or another, sometimes more than once.
i want to put all the films all on the web, like the ones i already did, but even with my technical trickery it takes a LOT of time.
To my delight, I now find that the Google search engine has picked up the entire internal content of my whole database. So if you do a Google search in any of the almost a million names in my data-base, google will land you right in the middle of one of my text files. woop di doo.

Hey, wait a minute now Bmilazzo (what IS your name anyway), I think that Anthony Alioto is telling you that you might be a Sicilian Land Baron in Trapani. What fun, so there may be gold at the end of your genealogical rainbow.
I know that my own family owned the Tonnara in Avola a couple of centuries ago. I have a copy of the Tax Returns they made on it in about 1817 (known as Riveli). It is a building complex at the water's edge, these days a tourist attraction. I also know that my great grandfather was Baron of the Tonnara of Noto and Capo Passero.
So maybe (with a certain amount of risk) you could stay at my Tonnara and I can stay at your whatever. I wonder if your places still have roofs on them. I know that the Tonnaras don't.

Dear Mr Alioto thank you for the advice to forgoe letters for faxes and e-mails...It was bad enough when I had to give up my fountain pen for a ball point and from there to a sharp ball point and from a typewriter to a computer and from rich and flourishing language to abbreviations and caustic terse verbiage and now to increasingly less of everything.

This AM I read in the travel sectionof the NY Times that you now buy your way into eating dinner with an Italian family for $35.00!! The actuary tables reflecting my fast arriving demise does not look so uninviting anymore. =Peter=

I love my fountain pens and still use them. But I love the decent and proper use of computers (despite the fact that more than 50% of internet garbage is pornography).
Email makes short time of so much effort. It can be impersonal if one lets it.

Please don't lose me here and hopefully we can stay on point. I am a novice at this and appreciate whatever useful information is contributed.
