origin of Quattropani

A fellow genealogist recently asked me how to find the origin of her name, Quattropani. While its meaning is obvious, does anyone know its origins?

Quattripani (4breads...) is also the name of a small village in the Lipari island. Could be that the surname originates there...

Hi, I don't really know Italian but here is what I see:

(First word I can't make out, but ends with bica) e nobile Famiglia parta (next few words I can't make out, but they seem to be Family/Place names, as the first letter of each is capital). I Quattropani ebbero una contrada in Capua (Branafa) tra il 1450 ad 1500 la Famiglia Quattropani ei (the next word, I can't see, but it looks like erebili) in Francofonte (Maudi???).

Sorry I couldn't be of more help. I just saw this little bit, and thought I'd post it. Perphaps Livio can translate, or make some sense of the words I can quite make out.

Anyway, what it seems to say to me is this family was nobility, and had some land in Capua. Again, sorry I could not be of more help.

you should have posted in colour. All capital letters look blurry as they are in a lighter colour.
Here is what I can read:

Antica e nobile famiglia di parte Ghibellina (Muzzi?) godette
nobiltà in Spoleto (Guelfi). I Quattropani ebbero una contrada
in Capua (Granata?). Fra il 14?? ed il 1500 la famiglia Quattropani
si stabilì in Francofonte? (????). Luciano di ??? teologo in-
signe (Strafferello?).

Hello, Ada. Here is something I try; Do you have a phone/digital camera? I use negative color effect, and it makes things stand out incredibly. I will try and post a pic.

I don't know if a color image is available. I will try to find out. I suspect she may have gotten this from an old document that was created without color.
