I have researched my family name and have sent letters to the 75 Pellecchia's listed in the Italian white pages. O fthe one who have responded none say that they are related. I am hoping that when I go the the town to attend mass I may meet someone who may know my family. Just thought I would throw this out there if anyone has any thoughts. I have heard from several people who say they have gone to there ancestors birthplace and have found family just by walking around, especially in the smaller towns. Anyway I am looking forward to just seeing the birthplace of my ancestors and hopefully finding some family.
Best wishes for your trip to Italy!

I'm pretty sure that this can happen in small towns or villages but Avellino is a town with 57.000 inhabitants....
Have your requested Carmine birth act to the Comune of Avellino? Just to see in which area of the city his family was living... Usually on birth acts you can find also the Baptism annotation with the name of the church where the baby was baptized...
