What genealogy software do you use?

Hello everyone, got a silly question. What genealogy software do you use?

I have PAF, Borderbound Family Tree Maker 5, Ancestry Family Tree Maker 2005 (basic), 2009, and 2010, as well as The Complete Genealogy Builder/Reporter and Family Tree Builder (from MyHeritage.com).

The problem is that I am looking for something that will take all my gedcom files, combine them into one giant files, replace all the duplicate entries, and not give me that much of a hard time.

I recently had found FTM 2010 on Amazon for 20 bucks, so I got that and spent the better part of 2 hours combining just two gedcom files, and it still listed me and a hand full of others as duplicates, which when I ran the merge duplicate individuals again, it did not even show me or the multiple other people in the duplicate merger list.

That is why I am wondering what software everyone else uses, to see if there are any other programs that I might be able to look into or purchase that would just merge all my files and make sure that it keeps all the records and facts in tact.

Legacy and Family Tree maker (and perhaps RootsMagic) are often mentioned as the best and/or most popular mainstream programs. In general, they are full-featured and intuitive to use.

The Master Genealogist is often mentioned as a "professional" program. It is perhaps the best program to input all your data and have it output what you want. Very comprehensive. However, it has a high learning curve.

A new type of program is Branches, with its graphical user interface. You can view, manage, and organize your genealogy data in a modern graphical environment.

I am currently focusing on RootsMagic v4 which I find very powerful. However I have used and continue to use GenoPro ( http://www.genopro.com/family-tree-software/ ) precisely for its graphical interface. As a former CADD/CAM guy (computer aided design/drafting and computer aided machining/manufacturing), I find the GenoPro interface very easy to use and - actually - let me use the word wonderful!
