angelio or angelia Corsiglia, born about 1864 arrival date 1898 but can't find him on passenger list. Father Giacomo, but can't find mother's name. Found some Corsiglia in Neirone, and Portofino...I know the family lived in ognio, in the mountains I think above Genoa. 1910 but I don't know commune etc. census has him living in Sacramento, Ward 5, Sacramento, Calif. shows arrival1886. 1920 census lives in San francisco, calif. A.F. Assembly District 33. shows arrival 1898. married to rose maggi, three children Frank, Eleanor, Margaret. Died possibly middle 1940's. The birth record 1868 shows Giacomo as father, no mother. I could be wrong because found out after name not angelo but angelio or angelia (confusing)

And, the 1930 census has Angelo living alone in Sacramento, having arrived in the US in 1883.

I would not go with the unusal spelling Angelio unless you have very good reason for doing so. I would consider Angelia especially unlikely, since with few exceptions, names ending in "a" are feminine.

By the way, Ognio is a Frazione of Comune di Neirone, Provincia di Genova, Regione di Liguria in Northwestern Italy.

Gracious me, thank you for all the imput.. I certainly appreciate all the research you did. No children from angelo and rosa were born in Italy. thank you again it certainly helped. I still wonder why in that birth book of Angelo, it shows no mother....Now that I know for sure he came from neirone, I can research more thanks again.

johnny on the spot, I forgot to say its funny because every census the date of arrival is different.. I show 1898 1886 1883 somewhere i show 1893 which just didn't match at all. I have to go back on the passenger lists and see if I can find Angelo Corsiglia. Everyone has the same name generation after generation it gets so confusing.On my father's side, my grandfather antonio married Maria Giacopazz, he died 1931 Born 1844. My great grandfather Luigi Coffrini born 1815, don't know when he died married Rosa Belgrosso, can't find her mother. my great great grandfather name Antonio, married orsolo Brattesani, their son was Luigi born 1815 go from there and figure approximately when Antonio his father died.....that way find out his birth death and parents. going nuts (laughing) Now the Antonio, my grandfather I know his children, still can't find Dina, Rosa or Eugenio who died a young boy. all births were Borgotaro, the last two were varesi ligure,la spezia province,liguria region. Rosa and dina would have been born between 1890 and 1897. Eugenio between 1897 1904, Dina could possibly be in here. Coffrini, so many most of them from borgotaro. So I go a little nuts and appreciate the help from this web. On ancentry can't figure the borgotaro. I know the province parma, emilia romagna region but can't find it on the drop down list. Looking genoa, Liguria, emilia, anyway going nuts.

How about Comune di Borgo Val di Taro, Provincia di Parma, Regione di Emilia-Romagna?

yes that is what I have. On ancestry for some reason I can't match. I think if I put emilia Romagna in, parma doesn't come up or parma comes up but there is no emilia something like that off hand I can't remember, I'll have to try again to know what I am trying to say. I haven't tried good earth i'll try that tonight. thanks again

i can't try google earth because my computed outdated. One of the relatives died of influenza at Ellis Island, I cannot find a death record in new york,without having to pay something. where do i look, gee i just don't have any luck what so ever.
