i am helping an old friend find her mom ship record. i cant find it please help.. Margaret mary collins born bailey ireland 1903 about . departed from liverpool england . sailed on the ship ss president polk arrived march 20 1923 . ellis island i have ancestory .com but i cant find it any where .thank you so much she will be very happy <3 debbie

At www.ellisisland.org there are several listings for arrivals for Margaret Collins, from Ireland ...
They arrived in 1920, 1921, 1922 and 1924, but none in 1923

I found no arrival of the President Polk on March 20, 1923, - only arrival in March '23 was March 1. Checked the manifests for March and April 1923 for the President Polk and there is no Collins listed...

The President Polke sailed out of London on March 24, 1923, arrived in NY on April 5th.

I scanned through the manifest (only 34 pages most of which are two-sheeters) and didn't notice any Collins or Bailey's.

thank you all for all of your help . her maiden was collins. she was born in ballyferriter ireland 1903. she married patrick ashe in springfield massachusettes i dont know when what year i am guessing 1930ish. she came alone. my friend told me her mom wrote on a post card to her cousin it was dated july 10th 1923. the picture on the postcard was of the ship ss president polk that she was traveling on. she wrote that on the back of the card. she had a brother michael collins he came later also she had a sister mary co9llins i believe they all came to massachusettes before 1926. i deeply appreciate all of you for helping me pat my friend will be so happy. thank you all again <3

my friend told me she was definetly born in 1903 and was only 20 when she came. she bought the postcard on the ship when she was traveling here from ireland. the date on the post card is july10 1923 so she had to have come around july sometime. do you think she came through Boston? or somewhere else? i thank you so much

I found a 1930 Census for Patrick Ashe and family in Springfield, MA
However, his wife's name is Katie. Both are immigrants from Ireland, Patrick lists 1921 and Katie 1920 as arrival dates.
They married about 1924...
They have children Margaret 3y 9m, Robert 2y 9m, William 1y 5m.

Could this be the family? Did Margaret ever have the nickname Katie?
