Great finds, suanj!

I'm sorry I missed the post of Grace's manifest... :oops:
Thanks for clarifying that.

I took a chance that Josephine was born in Cook County, Illinois... thanks for posting the details of the "Josie Ingoglia" birth so we can rule her OUT :-)

I agree, we must now find the manifest for Vincenzo Esposito/Asposito :D

Again me:
the father of Vincenzo ( aka James) Esposito married in Napoli ( Naples) on 11 Jul 1894 at Antonia Belfiore;

I found the marriage transcription in Acerra civil records;

-groom: Onofrio ESPOSITO 39 old, born and resident in Acerra, son of late Vincenzo ESPOSITO and of late Angela DE LUCA
-bride: Antonia BELFIORE, 24 old, born in Benevento, resident in Napoli, daughter of unknown parents;

but that was the second marriage of Onofrio ESPOSITO;

because the first was:
Acerra 9 jun 1878

-groom: Onofrio ESPOSITO 23 old, born and resident in Acerra, son of Vincenzo ESPOSITO and of Angela DE LUCA

-bride: Marianna DE ROSA 35 old, born and residnt in Acerra, daughter of Giuseppe DE ROSA and of late Maria CIARAMELLA

Image

third marriage:
Acerra 7 Mar 1915

-groom: Onofrio ESPOSITO 60 old, born and resident in Acerra, son of late Vincenzo ESPOSITO and of late Angela DE LUCA

-bride: Maria DE FALCO 53 old, born and resident in Acerra, daughter of late Carmine DE FALCO and of late Rosa ESPOSITO

This is the 1st husband of Grace Scimonelli:
http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cg ... d=89898789

I've been researching this family as Grace's daughter Lena DiGiovanna Geluso was my girlfriend's great grandmother. I found Grace's husband James Asposito's obituary as well:
http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cg ... =90010023&

I was trying to find Grace's death record and obituary but was unaware of the 3rd marriage until I found this thread. If this is of interest to the original poster I'll dig around. Grace being my girlfriend's great great grandmother I'm really interested in finding her death record/location and adding it to my work on findagrave.

Goodness, thanks to all who contributed! I had forgotten that I had made this post. It sounds like Vincenzo is indeed my great grandfather!! As for Josephine and Lena, my dad (Joseph Asposito's son) has mentioned an "Aunt Josie" and an "Aunt Lena". So now I know that they were my grandpa's half sisters. The SSDI information is indeed my grandpa, but I had discovered this record long ago, and it doesn't tell me much that I didn't know already. I can't confirm one way or another about Grace's marriages or children.

Again, thanks for all that worked to help me!! It warms my heart :D
