Is my understanding correct?

Is my understanding correct?

Postby Congemi » 20 Jan 2012, 00:43

I realize my first posting of this document was a bit much so I have limited it to two postings which are the second paragraph that I am trying to understand.
What I know from the first paragraph of the memorandum:
bridal couple:
Antonio Pillitieri son of Salvadore Pillitieri, deceased and Ninfa Abbate
Guiseppa Marciano dau of Pietro Marciano and Angela Pillitieri

What I believe the second paragraph (image posted) is stating:
-Pietro Marciano is the son of Stefano Marciano (curious about what it says following Stefano)
-Angela Pillitieri is the daughter of Francesco, deceased
-Ninfa Abbate is the daughter of Antonino, deceased.
All or Ninfa residing in Boccadifalco

After that I don’t know who the other people are that are mentioned in the document.
As always any help is greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
Tana

Your assumptions are right!
All of them were residing in Boccadifalco.
Other people mentioned were witnesses of the memorandum (Arcangelo Lauria son of Andrea, and Gioachino Li Vani, son of the deceased Melchiore).
After the word "Stefano", Pietro's job is mentioned: he was a "carrettiere" (Carter)
Giuseppe "Pippo" Moccaldi

Pippo,
Thank you so much for responding to my post. I was fairly certain that I was reading it correctly but with the lack of first names I thought I should have it verified by someone with knowledge of the language . I am elated with my find as it pushes my research back another generation on my Abbate line.
I really appreciate your volunteering your time to help me as well as others in discovering our Italian heritage.
Sincerely,
Tana
