Del Pezzo/Corso/Gallo/Giacobbe

Working on a family tree for my mother, Helen Corso (maiden name), but the information comes to a halt only 2 generations before her. So far this is what I have found about her grandparents:

Fannie (Fortunada) Del Pezzo (not sure of spelling), 8 December 1892 - July 1978, from Naples (info provided by family), brothers - Carmine(1899-1969) and Ralph(1908-?), immigrated around 1893 (according to family), married Arthur Gallo(1888-1979)in 1906, had 11 children
***possible father - Carmine Del Pizzo(1864-?) from Avellino, arrived 5 March 1889
***no other information on parents available

Arthur Gallo, 10 November 1888 - April 1979, from Naples, immigrated on 28 March 1905, became a US citizen on 24 May 1948, married Fannie Del Pezzo in 1906, had 11 children
***no info on parents or siblings

Carmela Giacobbe(1860-?)born in Mialazzo, arrived from Sicily on 29 April 1907, died between 1920-1930, had three sons - Antonio(1900-?), Tindaro(1908-1988), Frank(1911-1972)
***no information siblings or parents
***no information on date of death

Stefano (also Stephen or Stephan) Corso (1871-?) born in Mialazzo, arrived from Sicily on 30 March 1905, had three sons - Antonio(1900-?), Tindaro(1908-1988), Frank(1911-1972)

Hi Marty - Silly question, but are you finding the translation for these records? I'm only finding them in Italian and, unfortunately, I can't read the information. Just thought I would ask, if there was an easier way. If not, no worries, I'll plug along and see what I can make out. Thanks again!

The records are in Italian most records are form based so you should be able to get family info from them here is some reading for you on Italian records. I have given a short version of your records just for the info you need.
There are nati birth records matrimonio marriage records morte death records as civil records most start the same with the date and time the act was recorded then the civil official name and the town where the act occured the persons involved in the act ages occupation sometimes the parents are listed (mostly in marriage and death) then name of the person the act is about (baby,people getting married or deceased. The act or record are witnessed by people not usually the family just to show they have been recorded at city hall

I did find that about Carmela and Stefano Corso...about 5 mins before my mom told me that was where they were buried

I'm having the hardest time with the Gallo side of the family. You found Arturo's birth certificate, which was great and gave me his parents names (Paolo Antonio Gallo and Maria Antonia Vitiello). I also have his parent's marriage certificate which gave me their parent's names (Maria Lusia Salvatore m. Agostino Gallo and Michele Vitiello m. Giuseppa Innocenza), and I found his passenger list that said he was going to meet a brother (Agostino) in Philadelphia, but I can't find much else. I'm going to keep digging and maybe post something else on this site to see if anyone else has any info. Thanks again for all your help!

Is there an easier way than going page by page in a year or range of yeas? You seem to find everything so quickly and I've been looking for certificates of birth for hours

There are indici decennali 10 year indexes for birth(nati) and death (morti)records by last name some years show the fathers name and date next to the name like this
AGOSTINO GALLO / PAOLO / 31 MARZO
marriage records have some indexes check the back pages of the record year sometimes they are there

So I think I'm getting better at this research thing. I've gone through the index for Torre Annuziata from 1882-1887 to see if I could find some information on the siblings of Arturo Gallo (1888). I know his brother Agostino was born in 1881, the parents married in 1880, so I figured there must be more siblings. I think I found one record for Nunziata Gallo - 1882 https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.3.1/T ... c=12767706 but I can't quite make it out.

Help with translating these would be very much appreciated!!

1) 1882 Oct 20th baby was presented by midwife Francesca Gallo parents were Antonio Gallo, sailor and Maria Gallo had a baby girl named Nunziata Gallo

2) 1884 Feb 19th baby was presented by Antonio Gallo and wife Maria Senatore had a baby boy named Ernesto Luigi Ferdinando Gallo

3) 1887 May 7th baby was presented by midwife Francesca Gallo parents were Antonio Gallo, sailor and Maria Gallo had a baby boy named Domencio Gallo

Could be a cousin but not the children of Paolo Gallo and Mariantonia Vitiello
If you look through the indexes you will find at the top of the page
COGNOME/BABY NAME PADRE/FATHER FIRST NAME MADRE/MOTHER MAIDEN NAME DATA/DATE OF BIRTH so it will tell you the parents of the Gallo your looking for Paolo Gallo and Mariantonia Vitiello
