birth record help please - is this an infant death?

Postby dmt1955 » 22 Jun 2012, 02:52

hello,

I would appreciate some assistance with translation on this birth record #23.
Under child's name Maria Giuseppa Puorro....i can't read the first word ??? morta? was this an infant death? stillborn?

also, I can't fully read the mother's name - Maria Rosaria Costanso? Costanzo?

After Ma. Guiseppa's name is identified, I am not sure what that says...But I'm going to give it my best try....I think I read "a che riconosco essere senza dita?" is this right? she was born without fingers?

is there any other info on the record that may elaborate?

thanks
donna

The wording under Maria Giuseppa is Nata morta = stillborn
The mother's surname is Costanzo
The wording after Maria Giuseppa is "e che riconosco essere senza vita" = and that I recognize is without life (dead).

livio
thanks for clarifying this for me.

and although there is a big difference between dita e vita....i am encouraged by my progress in reading the handwriting!

most appreciative,

Glad to have helped, and yes, there's a big difference between fingers and life! :)
