Trupiano Family Tree

Hi, my name is Grace (Trupiano) Goncharuk. I am a cousin to Krista (saucybgl) who has been researching the Trupiano family tree through this site. Tessa & Valarie have been extremely helpful. I have spoken to my Aunt (Krista's Grandmother) and she has verified the addresses on Oakley Ave & Bayard St to be correct. She also verified that her grandmother's maiden name was Gallo (Nunziata). My Aunt (Josephine) did say that her mother's maiden name was spelled Buino (not Bruno)per a death certificate. She also found that her mother's parent's names were Matteo Buino & Marie Faheu. Can you possibly trace the Buino/Faheu lines and see where it takes us? Appreciate any and all help.

Hi vj,Yes you are correct in connecting the Surname of Buino to Michael Trupiano's wife. I noticed that the person married to Matteo Buino (Bianno) is Marie Sales! Could that possibly be Marie Faheu? Any other information of Faheu line? Great job, quick work. Thank you so much.

I think that it is only a possible marriage record
These records are often transcribed incorrectly
What records does the family have with the Faheu spelling?
Since she uses the 'F' as a middle initial, Faheu may be closer to the original surname.
Interesting that she may have had two other (single) daughters with different surnames, both born in NY.

Hi VJ. I checked the 1900 Census and I don't think the Brondo family is the correct family because Matthew was born in Italy and Mary had 7 children, 4 living (none named Marie (Mary) or Frances. The 1910 Census seems to make more sense (even though there are striking similarities between the two). I have a copy of my grandmother's death certificate and it lists her given name as Marie F. (Frances), date of birth as 12/23/1892 and lists her father as Matteo Buino and her mother as Marie FAHEU. Can you please check to see when Marie Faheu came to the USA and when Matteo Buino's parents came to the USA. I have a cousin in Italy right now & she would like to follow any lead you might have as to where the Trupiano/Buino families immigrated from. Thank you for all of your help with this.

Checked the current white pages in Italy and Ellis Island 1892 to 1924, FAHEU doesn't appear to be the correct spelling. Can you post the record? Perhaps one of our members can figure it out.
Note: on ancestry, Michael Hojnacki of East Meadow, New York, has the spelling as SAHEU (it doesn't appear to be correct either)

For Matteo Buino, we'd need his parent's names to find a ship manifest. Do you know where he was born?

Hey VJ, Sorry but I am computer illiterate. I will check with Krista and see if her husband can do it as they also have access to the same document.
As for Michael Hojnacki's posting on ancestry ~ Michael is my brother-in-law and I am not sure where he got that spelling. I will check with him.
Also, can you check the 1870 census for Matteo Buino and that should tell us who his parents are.

If you have the $27, I would go ahead and order Marie Frances Buino's SS Application
It will confirm both parent's names. Her mother's maiden name does not appear correct - it's not current in Italy and not on Ellis Island or Castle Garden
