<IMG SRC="images/forum/icons/icon_razz.gif"> ~SEEKING MY \"MATTIA\" FAMILY ROOTS~ <BR>My grandfather was \"Guiseppe Antonio Mattia\". My grandmother was \"Angelina Padouano\". Both were born in Ripabottoni Campobasso. My grandfather arrived in Montreal, Quebec Canada (via New York)early 1900\'s. He had family in New York, whom he visited often in the 50\'s and 60\'s. He died around 1972-73, at the age of 93yrs. My grandmother followed him to Canada circa 1904-05, a couple of years(?)later with a daughter named \"Maria\" (about 4 years old). She died in 1945. Would like info from anyone who may be \'family\'. <BR>Thanks...Dee <BR>Montreal, Quebec Canada

I assume your grandmothers surname is Paduano and not Padouano. There are 11 Paduano surnamed persons in Ripabottoni and 2 Mattia as well and they can be reached at www.paginebianche.it (name in ist line and town in 3rd line and click cerca). I asume your posting was to attract Mattia persons in NY who are family. There are well over 100 in NY state. Perhaps a sdame letter to the Paduano and Mattia families in Ripabottoni would yield a lot of information concerning both yuour grandparents since they are most likely your relatives. Peter
