Searching for; Deleppo, Del Cioppo, Rossi

Hello,
I am trying to find my Italian family roots on two fronts; my paternal grandfather's family, and his first wife, my paternal grandmother's family. I would be grateful for any help on either front. Here's what I know so far...

I think my grandfather, Ralph Deleppo may have actually been, Raffaele DelCioppo who arrived in America via Ellis Island when he was 11 in 1900. If this is correct his parents were Felice and Michelina DelCioppo who listed their last place of residence as Campobapo(Campbasso?). I would like any information on the family history.

One of Ralph/Raffaele's siblings was Mary Deleppo who I think may have actually been Maria DelCioppo. I mention Mary/Maria because she may be key in finding my paternal grandmother's family. Mary/Maria married Patsy/Pasquale Rossi (they had two children, Melba and Urico) and Ralph/Raffaele married Patsy's sister Filomena (my grandmother)so... a brother and sister married a sister and brother. Sadly, Filomena died around 1927. I would like to know who her parents were, if she had any more siblings,and where in Italy she was from, anything.

I would be thankful for any information on either family.

Can I ask a few questions of you first?

You mention that you think Ralph arrived in 1900 at age 11. Does this mean that you are certain that his year of birth is about 1889?

Were he and Filomena married in US?

In looking for US records (so we can work backwards to possible origin of birth) - I have Ralph Deleppo residing in Waterbury, Connecticut with wife Grace in 1940 - Would this be your GF?

If the birth date of 1889 is correct... here is another POSSIBILITY for the arrival for Ralph/Raffaele in 1892 at age 3 Notice the spelling of the surname.
I will try to find an image of the manifest to identify with whom he is traveling.

In the 1930 US Census, in Waterbury, Connecticut, Ralph is a widow with 3 sons and his mother, Michellina Delleppo, age 65, living with him...
He also gives his immigration year as 1897, as does his mother.

Wow! I'll try to answer in the same order, here goes...
Yes, I think Ralph's birth date was about 1889.
Yes, I think he and Filomena married in USA, but I don't know for sure.
Yes, Ralph lived in Waterbury with Grace his second wife.

I looked at the Ellis Island manifest for the 1892 arrival you found, to me the handwritten manifest looked like "DelCioppo", who is the adult "wife" named Eufemia? Does this mean that Ralph came to USA in 1892, went back to Italy then came back to USA in 1900? Could Eufemia be his mother instead of Michelina?
Re: the WWII Draft card, I do remember my uncle saying something about Ralph using the name Frank...but I don't know why, but this must be him.
Re:1930 US Census, yes this must be him, but I never saw Deleppo spelled with 2 ll's before.
Re: 1917 Connecticut Military Census, I guess this could be Ralph...there's "Frank" and 2 ll's in Deleppo again.(P.S. there are Xrated things at the bottom of this attachment)

Suanj, thank you. All the variations on not just the last name (I've counted 7) but on the first names as well, it's a lot to take in. The biggest mystery is; did Ralph come to America in 1892 and if yes, who is Eufemia? It makes me wonder if Michelina was his biological mother or his stepmother? I will try to contact my Uncle to find out about the name "Frank". Also,why so many last names? It makes me a little sad to think he may not have had a "real" last name. Any thoughts?

Hi Suanj and Tessa,

Thank you both so much. Raff not being the same person as my GF Raffaele does simplify things. And it now seems quite certain that Felice and Michelina Del Cioppo are my GGF and GGM. My question is; where do I go from here? Is a search for family history in Italy possible? What about possible lost cousins even here in USA from Felice's brother Alessandro? Did he and his children keep the name DelCioppo? I have sooooo many questions I really don't know which direction to look for first!?! Any help would be appreciated.
