I'd like to do some research for my husband's grandmother. I have a date of birth for both of her parents. Normally I would just order the mirofilms I needed and get right to work but Family Search only has films available from 1809-1860 for both of the towns her parents came from. Her parents were born in the 1880s. It looks like I'll be writing my first letter to Italy for these records but I'm also going to need to request her grandparents' marriage records. Even if there are ages on her parent's birth records it would still just be taking an educated guess as to the range of dates her parents would be married in. Not a problem when all I have to do is search a film but I don't know if a town clerk in Italy would be willing to do the search for me.
What would you do?
Here are the facts I have:
Mother- Angelina Simone (listed as Angela on the passenger list from 1903)
Born 7 October 1887 in Barile, Potenza, Basilicata, Italy
Her parents are Carmela Traversa (possibly birth date is 1855) and Luca Simone
Father- Joseph Pierro (listed as Giuseppe Pierri on passenger list from 1902)
Born 10 September 1882 in Rionero in Vulture, Potenza, Basilicata, Italy
His parents are Gabriele Pierri and Irene Bresci, no dates known
