Looking for relatives ~ Buono, Conti, or DiNali

Postby dee4747 » 26 Nov 2002, 01:31

Hello to all,
I am new here ~ I am curious to see if I can find any
long lost cousins or relatives ~ First cousins last name
is Conti ~ Also grandparents name is: Paternal =
Buono, maternal maiden name = DiNali (not sure that
is correct spelling)

My grandfather and family arrived through Ellis Island
in 1898. He arrived with his mom and dad, and several
siblings. They immediately went to Montana. There his
mom, my great grandma, was burned alive by fire while
cooking at a Wood burning stove. Great grandfather
then remarried, but died soon thereafter. The step
mother was not able to care for all the children, so she
put them in an orphanage. My grandfather watched
as his siblings were adopted out, but he never was.
He stayed until the age of 18, and tried, in vain, to
look for his siblings. He met my grandmother in Montana,
Amelia DiNali, and they then moved to Bridgeport
Connecticut. My mother was one of their daughters.
Concetta Amelia Buono.

How wonderful it would be to locate some actual
family members ~ Many cousins were around when I
was a young child, but my mother kinda lost her mind,
and took me and my siblings all across country, and
changed our names so that no one could find us...A
battle between her and my dad...Both are dead now...
but we had all lost touch with all of our immediate
family.

I\'m new and am going to check out the rest of the
site.

thanks to all,
with love,
dee
Looking for relatives ~ Buono, Conti, or DiNali

If you are looking for relatives in Italy then please go to the ellis island site and retireve the town of origin and see who came together in the ships manifest. If you are looking for relatives in the USA, then aht might present a problem since if the kids were adopted theu may have taken names of their adopted parents. Please let me know what your objectives are for the moment. Peter

There are two persons Alec and Larry CONTI in Montana. Go to www.infospace.com and look them up or better yet call them up and see if they are related. Do the same for Buono and De Nali...try connecticut as well. Peter

Well, Peter ~
thank you for your reply, perhaps I will try to do that...
I realize there are many Conti\'s in the USA, and perhaps
Buono is a shortened version of a longer name as
well. Many did change their names ~

But thanks for the info.

dee
send me your e-mail address so I can send you a distribution of Conti in the USA so that you can choose from the various states where they are concentrated and less concentrated. My e-mail is Petertimber@msn.com...Provided,of course, if you want to do the work. Peter
