Surname Definition?

Hello out there! This is my first time on any type of site like this-I actually don\'t put much time at all behind the computer-anywho, I\'ve been interested in the defintion and origin of my name. It has taken me 30 years to decide to research this a bit...but better late then never, I guess. Anyhow, how was it derrived? What does it mean? Was this the original name or was it modified when \"we\" came over to the states. I know the spelling has even changed in the last generation. Who am I? Can anyone help out there? Is there a site out there that would be more useful (but not too expensive)? Thanks for all or any assistance.

Is there a site out there that would be more useful? Of course this question hurts me a little but maybe you can explain me what information you mis. One thing is sure, if you do not mention the surname you want to find information on you wil not receive many interesting replies. you may wish to purchase a dictionary of Italian surnames. Emidio de Felice is the author and the title is Dizionario dei cognomi Italiani. It is in Italian. and published by the Mondadori in Italy. Peter
