New to Italian Genealogy

Hello my name is Joslyn Damore and I am new to Italian Geneaology both the activity and the website. I have only recently begun inquiring about my ancestry and I am curious how and where to look. I know very little about my ancestry and that makes it hard to find a starting off point. I do know that my paternal greatgrandparents and their siblings came to America but I am not sure if both families were on the same boat?! My greatgrandmother\'s maiden name was Mazzola and my greatgrandfather\'s name was Vito Damore. They met and married in Michigan, USA. I am very grateful for this website and any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you! Joslyn Marie Damore

Please read this website from the beginning in order to acquaint yourself with italian genealogy. Next go to www.ellisisland.org website and search out each individual. females do not lsoe their identity so their maiden name is the name on ellisisland records if they entered the USA at NYC. Start with that and when you encounbter a family member then click and read ships manifest for additional information. All records in Italy are in town of origin. Town of origin is paramount importance. Peter
