Need directions to a possible site...

Hi, I see the last posting mentioned directing the researcher in the right direction, so here is my question: I am wondering if there is a such site that may give info from Italy. I have my great grandparents names (Pio Celio & Giovina Vallese) and know they were married on Dec. 27, 1912 in Tortoreto, Italy. Pio was born in Colonello, Italy on March 23, 1885. Giovina born in Tortoreto on June 1, 1885. Now I am wanting to know their parents names, siblings, or any other info from their families in Italy. Is there a such site where I could enter their names and marriage date to find more info? Maybe a church name where they were married? Or is this something that I have to write to Italy for? Thanks in advance for ANY help that can be offered.
Nadine Blot (CELIO) :-D
NMBlot@AOL.COM

You have to write to the town of origin or go to the nearest Mormon church Family History Library and request the microfilm for that town\'s vital records. If you request microfilm from the FHL then you will have to rent the microfilm and go thru the reels. Please let me know what you decide to do. There are form letters for documents in italialian if you wish to go that route. Peter

Peter,
Thank you very much for the quick reply and help. I guess I was just hoping it would be easy, (yeah right!) and there would be somewhere online to get the info. We do have a FHL in my area, so I will try to get there and explore that route before sending letters. From what I understand, the hrs at the FHL are limited, so it may have to wait till I have some extra time on my hands to dedicate to going there. Thanks again for your help! ~Nadine :-D

The records are handwritten when you get back to eary records. Bring a magnifying glass and be prepared to read italian script. There is no quick way. Frankly if your intrested then sit down and come up with research obectives and then take it one step at a time. No one is going to do the work except you or someone you hire to do the research. (No I don\'t know who they are or what they charge!). Peter

Thanks for the tip of the magnifying glass! I didn\'t mean to imply that I wasn\'t willing to do the work...I am sure there is a lot to do, and just didn\'t really understand if there was any sort of records online that might be of help to me in that area. I do plan to do the work myself....whether it be from the FHL or the letters. I appreciate your help though, in just letting me know that there aren\'t any online data base/type sites to look at. Thanks again. Nadine :-D

you might want to consider wirting to those persons in the town of origin with the last names that are of interest to you by going to www.paginebianche.it and put in the surname in the first line and the town in the third line and click cerca. If there are names of interest write in very simple english and include a self addressed envelope and a dollar for stamps and ask them in VERY SIMPLE ENGLISH if they are related to you. Peter
