Scolaro and Rovalo

I am researching for Placido Scolaro. I found his entry at Ellis Island and possibly his brothers also. But that is as far as I can go. I was told his wife\'s name was Mary Rovalo, but I cannot find that anywhere. Where else can I look to find information on these 2 people. Brandi

did you try viewing the destination for them in their respective ships manifest (upper left when you click their names you have selection option for ships manifest.) Peter

placido scolaro came with his cousin Tomasso Caprioli and they were destined to francesco Scolaro, Placido\'s brtoher) in Scranton Pennsylvania. Peter

thank you. I have another question. on the manifest for placido, he listed francesco\'s address as 32 1/2 River (something) and think the town is Schnectavy NJ, as far as i could tell. But i dont think that place exsists either, , or i probably just cant read his writing. How did you find out that Tomasso was his cousin?? I cant even find his parents!!

I believe Placido Scolaros parents are Philip Scoalro and Catherine Cicero. I am unnable to find her anywhere, ,and the only Philip I ever find was his son Philip F Scolaro. I have ventured quite few different sites and some of the ones tha interest me the most are in Italian. I think they interest me because I can\'t read them though. Do you have any reccommendations on where else to look for the Scolaro\'s or Mary Rovalo and her family. I think that is there mom, but i now suddenly am not really sure since i just looked at my notes and the woman i have couldn\'t possibly be her because this lady was born in 1897. Guess i got anxious when i found that one. oops. <BR>More of your excellent help would be appreciated. <BR> <BR>

read the ships manifest closely and use the bar to read the full manifest by going all the way across. The town is Scranton Pennsylvania and it says right on the manifest that the cousin was going to visit his cousin Tomasso Scolaro right under Placido\'s entry. Peter

Thank you for pointing something so obvious out to me. I cant believe i missed that. Do you have any idea what this address is that alot of the travelers wrote down on the manifest. It is 32 1/2 River Street Schnectavy New Jersey. Think it is some type of Boarding house for where they worked?

we are both correct. The agency that made arrrangements was in Scranton, Pennsylvania but they were destined to the Schnectedy address in NY. Peter
