There is a small town named SORICO in the Como province... but that is probably too far north.

Found this on the Pro Loco website of the town of Casamarciano, province of Naples:

[...] In tal modo sorsero, qui ed ovunque, i casali. Finita la signoria degli Orsini (1529), Nola divenne una città libera e con i suoi sedici casali (Saviano, Sant'Erasmo, Sirico, San Paolo, Cimitile, Camposano, Cumignano, Casamarciano, Faibano, Gallo, Livardi, Liveri, Risigliano, Vignola, Tuffino e Scaravito) formò una università, cioè un gran municipio, che non ebbe però lunga durata. La gran parte di questi casali, tra cui anche Casamarciano, furono acquistati nel 1643 dal feudatario notano Giulio Mastrilli, Regio Consigliere e Capo di Rota. L'Università si smembrò per l'autonomia che andavano acquistando i suoi casali. My google results give me both English and Italian websites... but optioning to limit the search to just Italian pages is a great idea...

Hello everyone!
I do the same on 'Ask Jeeves' I search on Italian and not on world web when I want something here in Italy. The beauty of 'Ask Jeeves' is that you can just ask a question - for example 'Who won the 1936 mens 100m Olympic final'?
Google finds it hard to cope with actual questions.

I also use this Italian site:

Once that opens there are several search engines/sites listed on the 'side bar' plus a great deal more information.

Hope it may be of some use to all you great 'researchers' - I do so envy you your skills....
