Seeking Great-Grandparents in Italy

I would like to locate my great-grandparents in Italy. I located my <BR>mother\'s maternal grandfather entering Ellis Island. The manifest <BR>indicates that he previously entered the US in 1903 (this entry was <BR>1905), but there is no record of him in 1903 going through Ellis Island. <BR>His name was Felice Dinezza and family lore says that he was a <BR>\"bird of passage\" and worked for a time in the coal mines in Pennsylvania. He earned enough there to return to Italy and purchase <BR>good farm land. The town is Frosolone, but they lived in a village <BR>called \"San Pietro in Valle\". Is there a way to trace him in the US? <BR>He was here between census periods, so I don\'t think that there would be a record of him.

since his entry into the USA is nebulous the most efficient way you can go is to file a form 81 passenger arrivals record form 81 with NARA (natiuonal archives in Washington, D.C). Go to www.genealogylookups.com/narchives.htm for the request for forms. It may be possible he entered thru another port like Boston or Baltimore . Peter

86095 is the postal code for YOUR San Pietro in Valle, Province of Isernia, Molise region, Italy. There just happens to be another village in the Veneto region with the same name so keep the postal code handy since Frosolone is the Post office for 86095 and takes care of mail for San Pietro in Valle. Just a precaution on my part. Peter
