After this, in reply at request of nurse Mariarosa Pannoni(?), of age 24, Seamstress, it born and domicilied in this town, of to deliver at she this child with promising of to obtain the raising, the guarding, and of to give, refering to every Autority's requesting ( Major), and I don't find contrary causes to this requesting same, I let the same child at requester.
At above writing, and to this act, they are presents as withnesses the Gaetano Varisella(?) of age 51, employed(officer), and Alfonso .. (?) of age 47, employed( officer) , both residents in this Municipality.
Reading the act to present persons, it is signed by all, with exclusion of declaring, that it has said being no able to write.

ah ok. the picture is the ancient RUOTA DEI TROVATELLI in OSPEDALE( hospital of foundlings) DEI TROVATELLI in Pisa town, Tuscany.

Ok.....if I understand correctly..........the women could use this wheel to abandon the baby safely and without being discovered....because some babies were thrown into the waters of TEVERE..........

In roma yes, but the wheels was in many( perhaps all) towns... Now I know that In Padova perhaps again a new wheel, because also if the italian law is very modern and permissive and also proctetive in this case, especially in immigrated people of any races, many children are abandoned or killed in the birth... the women don't want to apply the laws, they don't want to leave nobody trace of own maternity.... kisses, suanj

Thank you a million times over. I am glad you were able to read the document. I was reading what you wrote about the wheel. Thanks for that too. So since I know for sure that there is not trace of who dropped Alessandro off is there any way at all that I can trace who might be his REAL parents? I woulod pay anything to find that out. Let me know.

Hi kim, no traces of real parents, most probable Alessandro was a son of a girl, he, Alessandro,it had to be conceived abt Feb/mar 1893.. well and this months is not the months of farmers (normally the farmer women make the illegitimate children abt march month), so most probable was a girl, a servant... no traces kim and don't worry more; let that the time cross all that must be crossed.... best regards, suanj
