Caracciolo or Chirico...........

Trying to find my childrens\' Italian side of the family. Great grandfather\'s name was Antonio Caracciolo from Napoli. Great grandmother\'s name was Conchetta Chirico from Calabria. Need to find out when they came to America, and when and if they naturalized here in the states. They gave birth to Santo Caracciolo on March 14, 1913, born at home in Brooklyn, NY. Santo married Josephine Magliulo (sp) in 1935 or 1936. Santo died in August of 1977, and Josephine died in March of 1991. They had three children: Anthony F., Louis and Jodie. Anthony F. Caracciolo was the father of my three older children, but passed away in 1989. It is urgent that we locate Antonio\'s birth certificate, (unknown date and place of birth) the marriage certificate of Antonio and Conchetta (if they married here in the US), Antonio\'s naturalization certificate (if he naturalized), and his death certificate. One of my sons is tryong to get to Italy to play baseball for Baseball Italia, but necessary documents are needed, therefore I am searching for any help possible to locate his great grandparents Antonio or Conchetta. I do not know very much about the geography of Italy, or how to go about locating this bloodline. Any help would be appreciated.

First go to www.ellisisland.org for entry into the USA as immigrants and sekk out names, age at time of entry, place of biurth and by going to the ships manifest other pertinent data. Also go to www.ins.usdoj.gov/graphics/aboutins/his ... natrec.htm for obtaining record of citizenship.Information about his vital will be in the naturalization certificates. If that runs into problems for you and they died after 1963 then there are social security records so please advise me if you need that source. Peter
