Searching dor PITZNER

Hello, <BR>I am searching for every information about the name Pitzner, who wears or has worn that name, what is the meaning of the name? <BR>I just know, that my familyname has been found in the area of BOLZANO in the time of 1700. There is no record of any Pitzner in Italy at this time nor is there any record of a Pitzner as an Italian surname. Fuirthermore, I even checked the Ellis Island records here and the only Pitzners that came to the USA were in 1904 from Berlin, Gernaby. Sorry. Peter
