Help me find my adopted great great grandmother

Postby lynne » 28 Jan 2003, 03:33

hello! I\'m trying to find my adopted great great grandmother. All i know is she died in the US in 1945. She was born in N. Italy we think out of wedlock because she was not only put into an orphanage right after birth but she was also the only blond haired blue eyed little girl in the village. She was married three times. He first husband we have no clue who he was. The only thing we know is that they had a child together named Joesaphine. We think her 1st husband was in the mafia. the second husbands name was Andrea Gritti they had 2 children together, Andrea and Francise. Her third husband was Guiseppe Vita whom was a gigalo and died of TB. They had a child together named Carmela. It has been known that Carmela was left with some inheritance in some kind of vineyards or something. If there is anyways that i can get some information on my family roots THAT WOULD BE SOOOO HELPFUL! thank you!

My email is: Lynardis@aol.com

Well i\'m not quite sure what her maiden name is...we think it may be stebina. All i know is her childrens names and her two married names, Gritti and Vita. She also died in 1945 and live in the North End in boston, ma...We really know very little about Maria. I\'m the first to do all this work to track our family down...its all for a college paper...it is worth it! Thank you Peter for trying to help me and my family! It means a lot to us!

I do not do any work I only send you to the appropriate websites and give you addresses. You look for the husbands names not me. Go to www.ellisisland.org for the husbands names. Peter

Have you tried the death records to see if maybe a maiden name or parentage is listed. What about burial records? I\'m taking for granted you know where she lived and died in the US. Joann
