My grandfather was born Aug 23, 1883 in Monteforte, Irpino, It came to american about 1910. Am looking for information about relatives in Italy. Vincenzo\'s father was Antonio Giordano his mother was Cecilia Aurigemma. both from Monteforte. Vencenzo married GHiuseppina Figliuolo. Any information greatly appreciated.

Do you have any specific research objectives in mind. Have you sat down and thought about what you want to know? Are you looking for relatives? are you seeking documents? if so, what documents? birth records, marriage records and death records? Please advise as I hjave to direct you to appropriate websites and addresses and furnish you with instructiuons. Do you speak, read and write Italian? Peter

You can start off by going to www.paginebianche.it and inserting the giordano surname in the first line and Monteforte Irpino in the third line and click CERCAS. This will give you a listing of all Giordano surnamed persons in the town by name,address and telephone number. Can you find relatives here? Peter

Peter: Both my Italian grandparents had died very young, prior to my birth. My only memories of them are pictures, very few, and what little information my Dad and Moom passed on before they died. They knew very little. I would love to find some living relatives, and if possible, documents, so my children will have some knowledge of their Italian heritage. I don/t speak Italian. Will this just make it an impossible task.
