I have a copy of my uncle Gerardo\' birth certificate, I think, written in Italian. Is there some place to get something like this translated. I was mostly hoping to find informatin about his parents, my great grandparents, from this document Thanks for any suggestions.

Can you take the document to a high school or nearby college or university where there is a foregin language department? These documents are cut and dry and anyone with a familiarty can read them without knowing the language, Peter

Peter: I had good luck with a retired high school teacher, recommended by our school Principal, and he was able to translate my Italian birth certificate. I learned so much information from this. I now know they lived on Via Cavallerizza 34 at the time of Gerardo\'s birth, and that he was a shoemaker. I also learned that I had the wrong spelling for his mother, which was translated to Angelamaria Guercio. I am very excited and pleased with the result. Thank you so much. :-D
