Looking for another family member

As part of my search, I am also looking for my wife\'s family. Her maiden name is Castiglione and believes them to be from Calabria. I am working in the State using the online census and have made some progress but was wondering if this is a common name in that region. They came to the US prior to 1888 so there are no Ellis Island records.

There are 133 persons surnamed Castiglione in the Calabria region which represents about 6% of all those so named in Italy. The majority are in the Cosenza and to a lesses extent in the Crotone provinces of Calabria. If you go to www.paginebianche.it you can find persons by name and address and telephone numbers. Peter
