LA Parola "Vaizzo"

In viewing a death record for a child of 6 years of age in the blank for "profession" it looked like the word was vaizzo. Can anyone tell me what this means? Grazie Joe

It could say... ragazza or ragazzo... ( female child or male child)... ??

Since it was a six year old that died... nnow wondering if the word in there was vaiolo .. or vaiuolo meaning smallpox??
