In 1295 Malatesta I da Verucchio was named "Signore" of the city, and, despite interruptions, his family held authority until 1528. Among his successors were: Malatesta II (1312-17); Pandolfo I, his brother (d. 1326), named by Louis the Bavarian imperial vicar in Romagna; Ferrantino, son of Malatesta II (1335), opposed by his cousin Ramberto and by Cardinal Bertando del Poggetto (1331), legate of John XXII; Malatesta III, Guastafamiglia (1363), lord also of Pesaro; Malatesta IV l'Ungaro (1373); Galeotto, uncle of the former (1385), lord also of Fano (from 1340), Pesaro, and Cesena (1378); his son Carlo (1429), the noblest scion of the family, laboured for the cessation of the Western Schism, and was the counsellor, protector, and ambassador of Gregory XII, and patron of scholars; Galeotto Roberto (1432); his brother Sigismondo Pandolf (1468) had the military and intellectual qualities of Carlo Malatesta but not his character.

suanj wrote:yes... you want know abt 9 point crown .... when are 9 point they NORMALLY means a royal town - but this only as symbol.. and however is a symbol of noble title...but it is impossible to say better, however:
FERRANTINO... is no a tipical Tuscany's surname..
FERRANTINI is a Tuscany's surname of many people, also noble in the past
http://www.archiviodistato.firenze.it/i ... errantini/
this Ferrantini family no descendants abt XV° century
here are all documents in Firenze archive abt Ferrantini people
http://www.archiviodistato.firenze.it/i ... mi_af.html
HOWEVER it was:
the FERRANTINO family with "LORD" title
the FERRANTINI family with "BARON" title
THIS means no that all people with this surnames are nobles, no, but that it was some family nobles....
for to say better it would be helpful almost to know the your ancestor birthplace in Italy and the first name... regards, suanj
