history of nardulli name

I was wondering if your data base had anything on the history of the nardulli name. I have seen that the family allegedley has a coat of arms, and that it is an offshoot of the Nardi family. I am particularly interested in that portion of the family that comes from Bari. Thank you in advance for your help in this matter.

Please clarify what your research objectives are? If heraldry then there are many websites in the internet that can assist you. If genealogy then please advise. Peter

history of nardulli name

peter..Thank you for your insightful question. I am not looking for heraldry since although I have seen the coat of arms for the nardulli family , I am not so diluded to think that a family that immigrated to the united stated at the turn of the century with 21 dollars hails from noble stock. Further I am not looking for traditional geneolgy. What I was hoping to find was a general description of how this family name evolved and perhaps permutated through time, where geogrphically it has been found(I am aware of the names connection to Bari) etc. Thanks Mouse

Tha base name is NARDI from which all variations, alterations and derivations stem. Nardulli is present in greater frequency in Emilia Romagna and Toscana and the entire southern italy. The name was common in the 11th and 12th century with roots to the name Bernardo and Leonardo. There does not appear to be any other reference in the dictionary of italian surnames. As for your family crest, look at it this way, even your name and obvious family had its 15 minutes of fame in the dark ages. Peter.
