Dear Laura Francisco Laucello did not die in Ohio. He died in Utica, new York May 4, 1926. His proposed wife was told to me as Giuseppina (or Josephine). She disasppeared. He said she died on July 31, 917 in Ohio and then he came to Utica, new York. Francisco's son, Joseph always said his mother's name was Josephine (Roselli) i cannot located a deasth certificate in Ohio nor a marriage of the two. HE WAS SUPPOSEDLY CAME TO AMERICA 1905, jOSEPH WAS BORN my 24, 1908 and Michael was born in 1910.

I am trying to locate a birth certificate. The name must be spelled wrong. Joseph had to get some kind of a birth certificate to receive Social Security benefits. ?? thank you

Hello Laura I checked the 1920 census Utica, new Yro. It is the Laucello family when they came from Ohio in 1917 as a widower ?? Joseph and Michael were 9 and 7 respectively. I remember my brother saying they were put into an orphanage/home as the father had to work. I located the St Vincent Industrial School on Rutger Street, Utica, New York. so I do recognize that info.

thank you so much for finding this info. I tried to search as much as I can when I reocognize. BUT I do not know all those families in 1920 on Hayes as no homes were on that street at that time. could be another location ? I will check

thank you for a beautiful job well done. i am still trying to locate their birth certificates in Ohio ??even a marriage certificate. Did Francisco come in 1905 or 1907 ?? thank you

Yes, I understood this... this is the reason I posted for you the military enlistment for the Francesco Saverio Lancello living in Utica on 1917 I found yesterday... I can't say for sure he is "your" Frank but the record worth a look...

This is the 1920 census only for Frank's sons... they were living in this school/orphanage, of course their father is not present in this census... I wasn't able to find him in the 1920 census....

this is (I'm pretty sure) the 1930 census for your family:

please note that on the manifest they are the only family listed in that sheet for Hayes Street, the other families listed are living on Albany Street and Tilden? Avenue... Do you recognize the children's names of your family?

You may try to ask for Frank and Josephine's marriage certificate to the Columbiana county Ohio... you have their names and marriage date (18 june 1911)

Still checking to see if I cand find Josephine Lauciello's death record...

edit to add:

now I'm pretty sure that also the military enlistment for the first world war is correct for your uncle Francesco Lauciello....

See the image and the answer to the question "Nearest relative":

Nearest relative: Joseph Laucello - (living in) Italy

Campomaggiore is a very little town in the Basilicata region (today are living in Campomaggiore only 980 inhabitants), this is the Town Hall site:

www.comune.campomaggiore.pz.it/

you can ask them to obtain an "Estratto per copia integrale dell'atto di nascita di Francesco Lauciello nato il 26 dicembre 1880, figlio di Giuseppe Lauciello, completo di eventuali annotazioni"...
On the document you'll find also his mother's maiden name, the address where he was born, his parents occupations etc....

Or, you can contact your nearest family History Center here:
http://www.familysearch.org/eng/library ... et_fhc.asp

and ask them to rent this microfilm (Civil registration of the Town of Campomaggiore)

Title Registri dello stato civile di Campomaggiore (Potenza), 1809-1910
Authors Campomaggiore (Potenza). Ufficio dello stato civile (Main Author)

Microfilm:
Nati 1866-1899 (births 1866-1899)
FHL INTL Film 1964936 Item 3

here is the link to find the town microfilmed:

Note also the address on the Draft registration card for the WW1 for Francesco:

address: 1006 Fay street - Utica

this is the same address that your grandmother Rosa Lauciello gave at her 1920 arrival in Boston:

Pink67 wrote:Boston Passenger Lists, 1820-1943

Port of Departure: Naples, Italy
Ship Name: Cretic
Port of Arrival: Boston, Massachusetts

Rosa (widow) was travelling with her daughter Paternoster Maria, age 23, single.
Rosa stated she was leaving in Italy (Campomaggiore) his son Giuseppe and was joining his son Francesco in Utica - NY - Address 1006 Fay Street

See the second page of the arrival manifest
