I just took a look at the Family Search site for the passenger list. They have the listing, but it says they don't have the image itself. Could they have something like that on footnote? I guess it's called Fold3 now. Is there a picture of the ship S.S. America anywhere?

I have had the same experience as Marty. Can't retrieve an image, only view it at ellisisland.org and at familysearch.org (which you must register on...but free)

Image of ship can be found at Ellis Island site :-)

So heres what we got on the Colella's side
Daughter Brigida Colella 1887
Father Giuesppe Colella 1854 abt
Grandfather Aniello Colella Jan 1820
Greatgrandfather Vito Colella 1770 abt

These are through the marriage and birth records of Forio
I just took a quick look and found this record of Giuesppe Calise's sister Maria Calise
In the year 1886 Sept 9th before the Forio town official appeared Vito Calise age 36(abt 1850) fisherman son of Giuesppe Calise and Lucia Restituto age 23(abt 1863)daughter of Francesco Restituto gave birth to a baby girl at #8 via Corrione in Forio named Maria Angelo Rocco Calise(according to the birth act)
birth act click on it
https://www.familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.3 ... c=11238510
There are more relatives the Calise's and Colella's and Impagliazzo's and Restituto's and Maschio's just got to search the indexes and work your way backthrough the birth(nati) marriage(Matrimoni) and death(morte)acts
Great researching and good luck

Nice searching, Marty :-D

Just wanted to mention that the ship image will only come up if you sign in at the ellisisland.org site either before or after you click the link... :-)

Thank you so much. If I sign up on the family search site, would I be able to view the passenger list for Giuseppe Calise and Brigida Colella?

Yes, if you are also registered on the ellisisland.org site... :-)
It will link you to the Ellis Island site.

Here is the link on Familysearch.org to the manifest for Giuseppe and Brigida

Could you please give me a link to the main page for the Forio records above that talk about the Calise and other families? I seem to be having issues getting to that page, although I could do it a few days ago.
