Valarie, This is alot to take in and I REALLY appreciate your help. I cannot contact Dorothy Galluccio on Ancestry as suggested since I'm not a paying member..however, I looked up her phone number and may call her. Can you possibly translate what is on the headstone that you sent me..Paci volitro in?oro, paci labriani in Dio (I know the last word..God)..just curious. I'm ver anxious to put this all together and see it!!

Tessa, Valarie found many great records..way more than I every could have hoped for. And thank you for figuring out 'Melillo'. I remeber my father saying the name..not sure where it fits in, but time will tell..hopefully.

Hey Carryl,
I'm so glad we could help. I'll send 'DorothyGalluccio' a note on ancestry.com and ask her to drop in over here.
I'm not very good with translations, perhaps T :D could help?
Valarie

edit: added

:D From T :D :

The top looks like
"Qui a pace"
Here at peace...

I believe the headstone says:
"They wanted peace
They have peace in God."

Carryl,
If you don't already have a computer software program for organizing your information, there's a great free one at FamilySearch.
It's called PAF - personal ancestry file.

Hi Dorothy, I was researching my family tree and got A LOT of help from Tessa and VJ. VJ found your tree and offered to contact you for me. It seems we're RELATED somehow. My grandfather is Luigi Fiore. His son, Otto (Arturo) is my father.

Hi Carryl, I would love to see your information and compare it with what I have. This is actually my husband's family. His grandfather was Pasquale Fiore from Avellino and his mother was Edith. They lived first in Paterson, NJ and then in Hawthorne. I just asked him if he remembers an Otto Fiore and he says that he did know someone by that name who lived around Cliffside Park, but he would not be living now. I have quite a bit of information about the family as we had an aunt who lived to be very old who loved to tell me family stories because she said I was the only one who was interested. Do you have family charts posted anywhere that I could look at? I am looking forward to hearing from you again. Dot

Hi again, After I posted you I realized that there was another page of posts between you and a couple of people who were helping you. I was not a subscriber to this website until yesterday, which I had to do to contact you. Yes, this really is the same family. Maria Antoinetta Fasciale was my husband's grandmother. Obviously you have the information that I posted on Ancestry.com. Those are the statistics, but I have a lot of the stories that puts flesh on their bones and I would love to share them with you. Do you still live here in NJ? Please get back to me and we will see how we can do it. Dot
