Maria:

You are wonderful, indeed. Got both the summary and the manifest you sent ...

unfortunately, not much detail.

I think, however, this Giuseppe Opramolla (b. abt. 1875) COULD be brother to Celeste (b. about 1864) and son of Gennaro (b. abt. 1847?) found on another manifest you sent earlier (1893 arrival). Remember, Celeste's father's name is supposed to be Joseph and her youngest son is Joseph.

This family is sure hard to figure out.

P.S. When you get a chance, can you let me know if you got a pm from me this (Sunday) afternoon? I thought I sent one, but didn't see it in my outbox or sendbox (oh, woe is me when it comes to technology!)

All best as ever,

no... just logged in and no message... try again!

I know... these late 1890's manifest are vague... I also thought the same... a sibling for Celeste... we'll find something eventually...

I am being thrown off the computer by an angry kid... and will certainly keep looking later... We are on -an hour per person - at a time here... no one watches TV anymore!! It's such a soggy day out there too..

Hi, again, Maria!

Spent this rainy afternoon "cleaning up" my family book for this gang and found yet another "small" clue:

Luigi (later Louis) Pierri, b. abt. 1858, married Philomena or Antonia Cornetta about 1880. Three children born in Franklin, MA 1889-1897.

1900 Franklin census says he immigrated 1882; 1920 census says 1881. Does anyone have records that early???

Am hoping he is brother to the elusive Giovanni Pierri, b. abt. 1860.

Still seeking village of origin, parents.

Have lots of "pieces" I hope will connect soon.

Thanks again!

Having a hard time reading this manifest .. clearly are several Oppramollas, but can't determine date of arrival, occupations, origin, etc
My ancient computer does not seem to be able to print a large enough format to see the lines I want.

Can anyone help?
