My great-grandmother was Anna Biancone, married Stefano DiCarlo, lived in Wayne, Pa. Stories were told about Stefano coming from Italy and living in Riverside, NJ for period of time. Was someone there known as the "Jersey Kid"?

Thank you for the information. I had the census information but not the draft registration information. The Stefano DiCarlo - 12/26/1878 - is my great grandfather. This might be a relation, even though the DiCarlo is spelled differently. Can you direct me as to where I would write in Italy to obtain Stefano's birth information. I am trying to confirm his birth parents. I have family members who can translate a letter for me to send. The town was Teramo, Italy, Abbruzzi, Municipality of Torricella. I am in the process of obtaining the U.S. death certificate. Hopefully, I'll be able to get information from that.

Thank you.

the municipality is Torricella Sicura ( Teramo province)?
if so you can write (italian txt)to:
Servizi Demografici
Piazza Mario Capuani
64010 Torricella Sicura (TE)
Italy

or by email:
sandro.direnzo@comune.torricellasicura.te.it
amalia.michini@comune.torricellasicura.te.it

asking the birth certificate ( Certificato di nascita);

instead if you need of birth certificate for dual citizenship process, please to request the:
Estratto Atto di nascita-Modello Plurilingue- a fini jure sanguinis.

Please to note that the same Stefano Di Carlo ( with space in italian spell) declared in WWI that he was born on 17 Dec 1878, and in WWII on 26 Dec 1878,
so in the request please to write : born in Dec. 1878, because if you write the 26 dec 1878 and he was born on 17 Dec 1878, you will have negative reply, and viceversa..

If you no need of birth certificate helpful for dual citizenship, but just you wish know abt the Stefano parents, you can try the birth record in LDS microfilms:
Registri dello stato civile di Torricella Sicura (Teramo), 1809-1899
Births, marriages, marriage banns, deaths, miscellaneous documents, marriage documents, citizenship records.
